After nearly three decades of travel, Ease Healing Retreats founder Moulay Hicham Aamalki explores the journey that brings us back to ourselves.

For nearly three decades, Moulay Hicham Aamalki has lived much of his life in motion.

Born in Morocco and shaped by a career in international aviation and hospitality, his world has unfolded across countries, cultures, and thousands of encounters with people in transit. Yet somewhere within a life spent helping others move from one destination to another, a different question began to emerge:

What if the most important journey is not the one that takes us somewhere new, but the one that brings us back to ourselves?

That question now runs quietly through Aamalki’s work, from the experiences he creates through Ease Healing Retreats to three forthcoming books exploring identity, humanity, healing, and the inner landscapes we carry wherever we go.

From Traveling the World to Traveling Within

Moulay Hicham’s story does not begin with wellness or publishing. It begins in Morocco, with family, culture, and the experiences that formed his earliest understanding of belonging.

His professional life eventually carried him far beyond those beginnings. Nearly three decades in international aviation and hospitality exposed him to an extraordinary cross section of humanity: different languages, cultures, celebrations, losses, personalities, and private struggles, all temporarily sharing the same journey.

Over time, travel became more than movement.

It became observation.

And observation became inquiry.

Alongside his aviation career, Aamalki pursued a path of learning through somatic wellness, meditation, yoga, breathwork, and Pranic healing. Rather than seeing these traditions and modalities as separate identities, he became interested in the intersection of lived experience, contemporary approaches to well-being, and ancient healing traditions.

That exploration eventually became Ease Healing Retreats.

The Philosophy of E.A.S.E.

Ease Healing Retreats was created around a simple belief: Ease is not something we seek—it is something we return to.

Its philosophy is expressed through four words:

Embody • Awaken • Surrender • Evolve

The retreats bring that philosophy into physical experience through intimate journeys centered on cultural immersion, nervous system awareness, reflection, and human connection.

In Morocco, the signature journey Morocco Unveiled takes guests from Marrakech through the Atlas Mountains to the Sahara, inviting them to encounter the country beyond conventional tourism. Through cultural encounters, traditional hospitality, reflection, and time in nature, the experience offers a different way to engage with a place.

In Rishikesh, India, the annual Heal Within journey brings guests to the foothills of the Himalayas and the banks of the Ganga for yoga, meditation, healing modalities, and sacred cultural experiences.

For Moulay Hicham, however, the destination is never the entire story.

The external journey creates space for an internal one.

That same idea has now moved onto the written page.

Three Books. Three Perspectives. One Human Journey.

Moulay Hicham is preparing three books for publication, each approaching transformation from a different landscape.

The Space in Between

The Space in Between is rooted in Morocco and combines memoir with transformational reflection.

Through childhood, family, love, loss, belonging, and rupture, Aamalki explores the invisible territory between who we were, who experience taught us to become, and who we may still choose to be.

At its center is an idea that challenges conventional notions of healing: perhaps healing is not always about becoming someone new. Sometimes it is about remembering the person who existed before the world told us who we had to be.

If The Space in Between begins close to the ground of memory and home, The Five Travelers takes the human story to 37,000 feet.

Three book covers by Moulay Hicham Aamalek exploring human journeys and healing.

The Five Travelers

At 37,000 feet, the world looks different.

Strangers settle into their seats, carrying far more than the luggage they brought aboard. Some arrive with laughter. Others with fear, impatience, grief, or the quiet exhaustion of holding themselves together. For a few hours, their lives intersect in the intimate, unpredictable world of an aircraft cabin.

Drawing on nearly three decades in international aviation and hospitality, Moulay Hicham Aamalki transforms these encounters into a literary journey filled with humor, tenderness, turbulence, and unexpected moments of humanity.

Five travelers emerge. Each carries a story. Each responds differently to the uncertainties of the journey. And as the flight unfolds, the boundaries between their stories begin to shift, inviting the reader to question who these travelers really are and why they feel so familiar.

The aircraft becomes more than a setting. Its crowded aisles, unexpected turbulence, long silences, and moments of extraordinary kindness reflect the inner landscapes we navigate throughout our lives.

Beneath its humor and humanity, The Five Travelers explores how we respond to pain, adapt to uncertainty, discover courage, and gradually become more conscious of the patterns we carry.

It is a story about the strangers we encounter, the parts of ourselves we have yet to understand, and the possibility that the most revealing journey may begin long before the aircraft reaches its destination.

Walking Through the Veil

His third work, Walking Through the Veil, moves into the quieter, less familiar territory that emerges when healing begins to change the way we see ourselves.

There comes a moment when understanding the past is no longer enough. When the identities that once protected us begin to loosen, leaving us with a different question: Who are we when we no longer need to be who we became to survive?

Through personal reflection and spiritual inquiry, Aamalki explores the courage it takes to move beyond familiar definitions of the self and encounter life with greater awareness, curiosity, and openness.

Rather than offering answers to every uncertainty, the book invites readers to consider what becomes possible when they release the need to remain who they have always known themselves to be.

Walking Through the Veil is an exploration of what lies beyond the identities we inherit, the stories we carry, and the boundaries we once believed defined us.

Sometimes the next chapter begins when we find the courage to step beyond what once defined us.

One Philosophy, Different Expressions

At first glance, publishing books, working in aviation and hospitality, and creating international retreats might appear to be unrelated chapters of one career.

Aamalki sees a connecting thread.

They are all encounters with people in transition.

An airplane exists between departure and arrival. A retreat creates space beyond the familiar patterns of everyday life. A book creates a private space between the reader and the page.

Each can become a threshold.

Perhaps that explains why Aamalki’s work repeatedly returns to the idea of the space between things: the known and unknown, survival and healing, movement and stillness, who we have been and who we are becoming.

It is also why his approach resists the promise of instant transformation.

The invitation is quieter.

Pay attention. Become curious. Listen to the body. Question old narratives. Encounter another culture. Sit in stillness. Recognize our shared humanity.

And allow whatever needs to unfold to do so in its own time.

After decades of crossing borders, Aamalki’s work ultimately points toward a destination that requires no passport.

Different journeys. Different stories. The same invitation: a return to self.
